Overview

With our massive and continued expansions, our Strategic Accounts department continues to grow with the rest of our company. Barton's Strategic Accounts works in conjunction with our salesforce and helps drive more business with key clients while opening doors with large potential customers.The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) will report to the Director of Strategic Accounts and work alongside the existing members of the Strategic Account team. Though each team member has their own individual book of clients they oversee, the team will frequently collaborate on best practices to drive growth!

Responsibilities

Develop and Implement Account Strategy: Lead the strategic direction for Account Executives on key accounts, optimizing revenue growth and expanding Barton’s market presence with each client.

Client Relationship Building: Research and identify decision-makers within client organizations. Tailor strategies for client meetings to:

  • Establish and strengthen relationships with key contacts
  • Explore new specialties beyond current sales
  • Drive growth in existing specialty areas
  • Cultivate long-term partnerships that position Barton as the exclusive locum tenens provider

Collaborate on Proposals and Presentations: Work closely with the sales, marketing, and management teams to craft targeted proposals and presentations that address client needs and align with their goals.

Client Engagement: Initiate contact, schedule, and conduct meetings with decision-makers at strategic accounts to further develop and solidify relationships.

Market Intelligence and Lead Generation: Gather insights on market trends, generate potential leads, and collaborate with sales and management teams to ensure follow-up and return on investment for new opportunities.

Client Issue Resolution: Address client concerns promptly through direct calls, emails, and in-person meetings with senior leadership, ensuring strong client satisfaction and retention.

Sales Goal Oversight and Support: Monitor and support Account Executives in achieving sales targets, providing guidance and resources to help them meet goals.

Enhance Client Experience: Develop tools and strategies to improve the overall client experience, ensuring Account Executives deliver exceptional service and that Barton as a whole exceeds client expectations.

Strategic Account Identification: Identify new business opportunities and key accounts for client visits that will drive growth. Collaborate with management to prioritize accounts and strategically plan visits to maximize impact.

Selling Proposition Development: Leverage market knowledge and competitor insights to develop unique selling propositions and differentiators, presented during client meetings to secure new business.

Data-Driven Strategy: Utilize Salesforce (CRM) and data analytics tools to create, monitor, and adjust strategic plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client needs.

Qualifications

Occasional Travel: Ability to travel as needed for client meetings and business development.

Sales Experience: 2-5 years of experience in client-facing sales, either inside or outside sales, with a proven track record of success.

Client Portfolio Management: Experience managing a portfolio of 15-20 clients, demonstrating the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Self-Motivated and Career-Driven: Strong initiative and a results-oriented mindset, with a focus on long-term career growth.

Organizational Expertise: Advanced organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess situations, identify challenges, and propose effective solutions.

Independent and Team-Oriented: Capable of working autonomously while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.

Adaptability and Growth Mindset: Flexible and proactive in supporting the organization’s growth and evolving needs.

C-Level Engagement: Comfortable engaging in high-level conversations with C-suite executives, both in person and over the phone.

Exceptional Communication Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and present information effectively.

Leadership Abilities: Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate and guide both clients and internal teams.

Salesforce (CRM) Experience: Hands-on experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software is highly desirable.

Healthcare Industry Knowledge: General knowledge of the healthcare industry is a plus.
