Overview

Barton Associates is the 5th largest locum tenens staffing agency in the United States. As we continue to scale our operations to meet the nationwide demand for healthcare providers, we are seeking a Senior FP&A Analyst to be a foundational architect of our financial future.

This is not a "maintenance" role. We are looking for an elite technical professional with a "can-do, will-do" attitude to support the build-up of our FP&A function. You will have the autonomy to design processes, implement advanced tools, and turn raw data into the strategic engine that drives our growth.

Responsibilities

  • Functional Build-Up: Partner with Finance leadership to design, implement, and document scalable FP&A processes from the ground up.
  • Advanced Financial Modeling: Build and maintain sophisticated, integrated financial models (3-statement, long-range planning, and rolling forecasts).
  • System Ownership: Act as the lead administrator for FP&A software tools, ensuring data integrity, optimizing workflows, and maximizing the ROI of our technology stack.
  • Strategic Analysis: Conduct deep-dive variance analysis and KPI tracking to provide executive leadership with actionable insights.
  • Automation & Scalability: Identify manual bottlenecks in financial reporting and leverage technology (e.g. Excel, SQL, or Programming) to automate them.

Qualifications

The Essentials

  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, or a highly quantitative analytical role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Excel Mastery: Elite proficiency is a non-negotiable requirement. You must be an expert in building dynamic, audit-ready models using advanced formulas, Power Query, and Power Pivot.
  • The "Builder" Mindset: Demonstrated experience in a "build-out" environment where you have created processes or systems where none existed previously.

The "Plus" Factors (Preferred)

  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in SQL (data extraction), Python, or VBA (automation) is highly valued.
  • Tool Management: Prior experience implementing or managing dedicated FP&A planning tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Planful, Vena, Pigment or Anaplan).
  • Healthcare/Staffing Knowledge: Familiarity with the metrics of the staffing industry or healthcare sector.
